There were all the traditional attractions from a raffle for a beautifully-made patchwork quilt, the ever popular Tombola, counting the sweets in a jar, guessing the weight of the cake, bric-a-brac, quality nearly-new clothes, home-made cakes and books and childrens’ games, including “beat the goalie”. There were also some excellent trade stands, such as a plant stall, an artist, a ceramics painter, hand massages, greetings cards, etc.etc.
There was excellent attendance by both French and English who all enjoyed themselves and most importantly 869 24 € was raised to help swell the LADC’s coffers. The event was organised by Stephanie Finn and Carolyn and Charles Miskin, and although it was hard work we are so pleased with how well it went and we'd like to say many, many thanks to all of the following people, the Mairie, Pascal, Phillippe and Christophe at Beauville, Maria & Dick Bird, Val Stanley, Chris & Derek Lomas, Eira Jones, Mike Lock, Ros & Tim Blackburn, Greer & Steve Millar, Kay & Mike (Carolyn's parents); Val Sykes, Marian Clarke, Patricia Debuf, Steve Finn, Gary Jores, Liz Sylvester, Pat de Vere Green, Vicky Newton, Pam & Doug Revel, Yolande Bishop, Dons Overweel, Shirley Sears Black, Kate Bewick, Fiona Neville, Sue Haskell, Heather Ransley, Julie Sellers & Barbara Mort who willingly gave up their Sunday to make the event such good fun and so successful.
