Birthday Greetings
“Les amis des chats” held a reception in the shop in Roquecor on Sunday 14th March to celebrate its first ten years.
In a short speech in French, president and founder Yolande Bishop thanked all those who had helped the association, including Roquecor Mayor Jacques Roudil, for all that they had done during the last ten years.
Her audience of more than 50 members and supporters included several founder members and many of the charity’s volunteers.
She went on to thank the many local businesses and national and international foundations like The Blue Cross, RSPCA International, the SPA, 30 Million d’Amis and The Brigitte Bardot Foundation who had supported the charity. Thanks to all those who had given their money, their time and their support, the association had so far helped some 5,000 cats.
The committee are confident that “Les amis des chats” will be able to help thousands more cats to live longer, healthier and happier lives in the years ahead.
And of course the committee blew out all ten candles!

The work of LADC is well known to us at Dogs Trust having had the pleasure of meeting representatives of the Charity at our annual International Companion Animal Welfare Conference.
There is little doubt that the work of LADC, over so many years, has meant that many hundreds of cats will be enjoying better welfare and a more humane approach.

SNIP International sends congratulations and all best wishes to Les Amis Des Chats on the important milestone of its tenth anniversary. SNIP International protects stray and feral cats and dogs by promoting neutering programmes overseas - in particular by donating specialist equipment; and in its work with cats has been liaising with LADC for many years. LADC's understanding of the regulations and mores applying to such work in France has made it an inspiring model across the country.
SNIP International is also pleased to acknowledge the extensive contribution of one of the LADC members to its own website and promotional activities. The welfare of many freeliving cats and kittens across the world has directly benefited from this connection.
