  Les amis des chats actively encourages cat owners to have their cats sterilised in the following ways:
- Bons de stérilisation -To help cat owners in our area who find it difficult to afford the cost, we distribute neutering vouchers or bons. These are worth €50 for a female cat and €20 for a male cat, with the owner paying the remainder of the cost. Whilst we cannot indicate precisely how much your vet will charge for the surgery, these vouchers should cover a large proportion (between 40% and 60%) of the fees. Check with your local veterinarian for an exact quotation.
- Providing veterinary information about the advantages of having your cat neutered.

Please note - if you do not include both pages of your latest Avis d'Impot and a stamped addressed envelope with your application, you may not receive any bons, and if you do they will probably be delayed.

If you would like to apply for a neutering voucher to have your cat sterilised, please check that you meet all of the criteria below, then send us a completed application form.
- You must live in Tarn and Garonne (82), within about 10 km of its boundary, or in one of the following villages: 46700 Lacapelle Cabernac, 46800 Lascabanes, 46800 Montcuq, 46800 Saint Laurent Lolmie, 46800 Sainte Croix, 47140 Dausse, 47140 Penne d'Agenais, 47270 Saint Maurin, 47370 Tournon d'Agenais, 47470 Beauville.
- You must submit an Avis d'Impôt sur le Revenu (including first and last pages) showing your name and address and a Revenu Fiscal de Référence (RFR) of less than 12,000€ for an individual or 16,000€ for a family.
- Your application must be made on the appropriate form (download the form here) and should be accompanied by copies of the documents mentioned above, as well as a self-addressed envelope (minimum size 110 x 220 mm) stamped with an equivalent of 0.90 €.
Please note that in order to control costs we only issue two vouchers per year to any household, and the vouchers must be issued by us and given to the vet before the operation or we may not honour them. Please also remember that vouchers are issued entirely at our discretion, and can only be issued when funds allow.
Les amis des chats is a charity, and relies on donations to support its continued work. Vouchers can only be used for the sterilisation of a cat and are strictly personal. Allow up to 3 weeks for delivery of the vouchers.
We recommended that while your cat is undergoing surgery, you ask your vet to identify it by microchip. Les amis des chats do not pay for this, but we advise you to have your cat identified so that it can be returned safely to you if lost or injured.
How are we doing?
In 2011 311 cats were sterilised with the help of our vouchers, cutting the cost or sterilisation for cat owners with limited incomes.
